Another weekend is here (a particularly snowy one across much of the United States), which means it’s time to dig into the best streaming services to find something to watch. There are plenty of quality films that’ll entertain you through the storm (or whatever you have going on this weekend).
I keep an eye on the Netflix top 10 list of most-watched movies every weekend to find the gems. Sometimes, terrible movies creep into Netflix’s most buzzworthy movies, and I’m here to filter those out and get you to the good ones. This week, I’ve found an intense thriller-action film, a feel-good romantic comedy and a family-friendly gem. None of these match what you’re looking for? Our guide to everything new on Netflix this month is packed with recommendations. Here are the three must-watch movies in Netflix’s top 10 this weekend.
Best movies in the Netflix top 10
‘The Rip’ (2026)
Watch On
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s reunion has brought the power of beards to this tension-filled crime thriller, and it’s remained at number 1 on Netflix’s top 10 for a second week. For a snowy weekend, you really can’t do much better than “The Rip.” The plot follows Lieutenant Dane Dumars (Damon) and his second-in-command, Sergeant JD Byrne (Affleck), who are still reeling from the brutal murder of their captain, stumble on a cache of millions in a derelict house during an otherwise routine bust. Word gets out about their windfall, making their next move much more complicated. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 81% positive rating from 123 total reviews.

‘People We Meet on Vacation’ (2026)
Watch On
This romance movie is based on a popular 2021 novel by Emily Henry with the same name. Emily Bader and Tom Blyth take on the roles of Poppy and Alex, respectively. The two main characters awkwardly reunite in Barcelona, and romance follows. The film is new, having hit the streaming service on Jan. 9, and it’s holding strong as the second-most-popular movie. With 75% of 64 critics giving the movie a positive review, it’s definitely solid. If the upcoming winter storm has you feeling down, a feel-good romance is the perfect kind of movie to lighten the mood (assuming you still have power, if you don’t, here’s how to prepare for a potential power outage).

‘The Bad Guys’ (2022)
Watch On
I have a 9-year-old step-son who enjoys watching movies. While my favorite genre is horror, those films aren’t appropriate for his young eyes. As such, we usually watch family-friendly movies when we all sit down, and of those movies, “The Bad Guys” is one of the few that didn’t bore me to tears. The action is fantastic, the voice acting is smooth, and the plot actually sucks you in. My step-son liked it so much that it turned him onto The Bad Guys children’s book series by Aaron Blabey, which got him reading more. If you need a family movie to watch during the upcoming storm, this is the one to see in the Netflix top 10.
