GAMING fans longing for the next generation of Xbox have been given the biggest hint yet about when the future console might land.
And if rumours are to be believed, it could be before the PS6 arrives.
Xbox maker Microsoft has already confirmed it is working on a new Xbox machine.
And it’s working with tech chip maker AMD.
Well, AMD’s boss may have revealed when the launch is expected to happen.
During a company earnings call, CEO Lisa Su gave a brief comment about the possible year it’ll land.

“Development of Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox, featuring an AMD semi-custom SoC, is progressing well to support a launch in 2027,” she said.
The short remark isn’t a solid confirmation that Microsoft will absolutely launch its next Xbox in 2027.
Instead, it means that AMD is ready to support a launch in two years time should Microsoft also be ready to proceed then as well.
But if a 2027 date is on the cards that could make it a year earlier than when the highly-anticipated PS6 lands.
Sony has, unsurprisingly, also been tight-lipped on when the PS6 will arrive.
There have been murmurs that a 2027 or 2028 release is on the cards.

However, all of these need to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Court documents released two years ago suggested that Microsoft was aiming for a 2028 launch.
Then last year reports emerged that an unannounced (and cancelled) Blade Runner game was due to land on next-gen consoles in 2027, further fuelling theories that that year could be the one.
The current gen Xbox, Xbox Series X / S, was released in November 2020, as was the PS5.
Microsoft has stuck to a fairly consistent 7-to-8-year lifecycle for major Xbox generations, with a “mid-gen” refresh or slim model coming out around 3 to 5 years into each cycle.
