Samsung’s summer Galaxy Unpacked event is now set for July 9. The in-person event takes place in Brooklyn, New York, but if you’re not in the New York area, you’ll be able to livestream Unpacked at Samsung.com and on Samsung’s YouTube channel.
The invitation says, “With AI leading the way, Galaxy devices are evolving from reactionary smartphones to anticipatory smart companions – transforming how we communicate, create, and connect.” Samsung has bet big on AI, debuting Galaxy AI with the S24 series, expanding it in the S25 lineup, and even integrating select features into its budget models.

Next month’s event will almost certainly include the introduction of Samsung’s newest foldable phones. Early in June, the company teased what looks like a larger, but thinner version of the Galaxy Z Fold in a press release entitled, “Meet the Next Chapter of Ultra.” Currently, Samsung uses the Ultra suffix to denote the most premium of its devices, like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, while none of its foldable phones bear that modifier yet.
Samsung followed up with another release entitled, “Thin, Light and Built to Last: The New Era of the Galaxy Z Series.” It flat out states, “This year, that [foldable phone] journey reaches a new milestone. The newest Galaxy Z series is the thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet – meticulously crafted and built to last.” Both the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are thin when open, but can feel bulky when closed since their thickness is doubled up. Thinner models could appeal to more people’s pockets in more ways than one.

A third release by Samsung, “Your Smartphone Camera Now Gets What You’re Looking At — and Responds,” explains how AI plays a large part in capturing and editing photos. The company once again teased new Z phones with, “When paired with the flexible, expansive screen of a foldable, [AI photography] becomes even more powerful, dynamic and immersive.”

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is one of the most expensive Samsung phones available, but the S25 Ultra still features higher-end cameras. All of these press releases suggest we may see improved, foldable-specific AI tools that take advantage of cutting-edge hardware at the start of July. Rumors are swirling as to pricing, but nothing is official just yet.
We’ll bring you all the news from Brooklyn on July 9.
