Dart and the Giants players were tasked with their first training camp practice on Tuesday.
But Dart got off to a rough start as a social media clip circulated of the Ole Miss product signal-caller product throwing a pick-six interception.
The pass was intended for tight end Greg Dulcich across the middle of the field, but it was picked off by cornerback Nic Jones, per SNY.
Jones then raced up the field to come up with the practice touchdown.
“Jaxson Dart‘s first pass in 11-on-11 drils is a pick-six in red zone. Nic Jones there. Didn’t look like Dart saw him,” SNY’s Connor Hughes reported.
Fans quickly joked about Dart’s pass that was shown in videos on X.
“What is he looking at here,” one wrote.
“Bro stared down the receiver and then some,” another commented.
“Already in Giants form,” a third added.
As for the rest of Dart’s first day at practice, he went 1-of-5 with a touchdown.
Dart spoke about the interception to reporters after practice.
“I just felt like I could beat him with the throw,” Dart said, via The Athletic.
“Obviously going back you want to try to put it a little on the outside shoulder.
“That’s just the closing speed of the NFL.

“You do your best to try to get used to it because there are a lot of really, really good athletes out here. It’s definitely something to learn from, but we’ll get better from it and move forward.”
Before Wednesday’s practice, Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed Russell Wilson as the team’s starting quarterback come Week 1.
Dart will be playing for his role on the depth chart as he battles veteran Jameis Winston for the No. 2 spot behind Wilson.
The G-men are coming off a disappointing 3-14 season.
