And an apparent Instagram post from the son of general manager Joe Schoen sparked intrigue.
Carson Schoen is believed to have shared a highlight reel of quarterback Jaxson Dart.
He then set his Instagram account to private after the post drew attention.
But it had already been circulated on X.
New York has just signed quarterback Russell Wilson from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
They could instead opt to use the No. 3 pick on somebody who isn’t a quarterback.
Cam Ward is widely expected to go No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.
Travis Hunter has been linked with the second pick to the Cleveland Browns.
But Cleveland has also been mooted to be interested in defensive powerhouse Abdul Carter.
Dart could be the second quarterback taken behind Ward.
He is likely to go in the first round, either before or after Shedeur Sanders.
A report from SNY claimed that Giants head coach Brian Daboll is a fan of Dart.
And if New York doesn’t select Dart at No. 3 overall, they could trade up into the first round later in the evening to land him.
Dart has pulled out of attending the NFL Draft in person.
The quarterback was on the list of 17 players who were headed to Green Bay.
