On Monday, the Tennessee Titans announced that wide receiver Treylon Burks has been waived.
The team signed Tennessee product Ramel Keyton to take Burks’ roster spot.
The 25-year-old Burks was waived with an injury designation days after suffering a fractured collarbone injury.
If Burks clears waivers, he’ll be back on the Titans injured reserve.
Tennesee drafted the Arkansas product Burks with the No. 18 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The selection was acquired as part of the AJ Brown trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Unfortunately for the Titans, the trade has since backfired mightily on the franchise.
Brown, who had one Pro Bowl nod and two seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards, has gone on earn three second-team All-Pro selections and help the Eagles win Super Bowl 59 last season.
Burks, meanwhile, hasn’t been a consistent wideout.
During his rookie season, he recorded 444 yards for one touchdown.
Burks then tallied just 221 yards in 2023 and missed most of the 2024 campaign due to an ACL injury.
Titans fans reacted to the news of Burks’ getting waived and called out then-general manager Jon Robinson for making the Brown trade.
“AJ Brown for Burks. Jon Robinson should be banned from football,” one wrote.
“Titans got robbed in that trade,” another commented.

“Jon Robinson will pay for what he did to this franchise,” a third added.
“And now it’s officially the worst trade, bro gave away AJ Brown for this man,” a fourth said.
The Titans will hope to improve after a miserable 3-14 season.
They are set to be led by 2025 No. 1 overall pick quarterback Cam Ward as the 2025 campaign approaches.
