The NFL backup signal-caller spoke about his father’s tough beginnings before ultimately helping his son become a millionaire thanks to his football abilities.

Bagent received a two-year contract extension through the 2027 season.
The 25-year-old’s new deal is worth $10 million, but it can increase to $16 million due to incentives.
Bagent took part in a press conference on Wednesday to talk about his new contract.
The West Virginia native told reporters that his dad, Travis, experienced brutal struggles as a kid, which included not having running water at his house for years.
“My dad is my right-hand man. He didn’t even have running water until he was in high school,” Bagent said while in tears.
“There are definitely a lot of things and people that I think I could certainly help with this gift I’ve ever been blessed with.
“I don’t really know anybody back at home with any money so it feels good.
“It’s certainly a weight off my shoulders and my family’s shoulders and it definitely means a lot.”
Travis is now a professional arm wrestler.
He has won over 15 and 25 national championships in the sport.
Travis has also been featured in multiple reality series, including Game of Arms and the documentary Pulling John.
Tyson entered the NFL with the Bears as an undrafted player in 2023.
He has since made a good impression over two seasons with the franchise.
Last season, Bagent played in four games and threw touchdown passes with 2024 No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams starting all 17 contests.

His 2024 play was an improvement after completing 66 percent of his passes for 859 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions in his rookie season.
Bagent entered the NFL after a record-setting college career at Division II program Shepherd University.
During his four-year tenure, he posted an NCAA all-divisions record 159 career touchdowns.
Bagent also won the Harlon Hill Trophy, Division II’s equivalent of the Heisman.
