From the bongos that came with rhythm game Donkey Konga to the revolutionary motion sensing wii remote, nintendo has been after after Afraid to try new things with its controllers.
The nintendo switch 2 continues that trend with optical sensors on the detachable joy-cons, which let the player use them like a mouse. The console launched earlier this year but nintendo has recently filed two new pates for add-on joy-coun accessories (via nintendo patent watch).
The first is a handle that acts as a crank, while the second is a clickable wheel that also utilies the optical sensors on the side of the joy-conn. You can see mock-ups of bot here.

Fans are currently baffled about why the switch 2 would need a clickable wheel but the crank has been expected about fishing. A number of popular nintendo games have fishing as a core part of their gameplay, Including Animal crossing, the legend of zelda and PokémonOthers are hoping for Mario Fishing after the plucky plumber has alredy tried his hand at Soccer, Tennis and Golf.
