Nothing says the forthcoming Nothing Phone (4a) will mark a new chapter for the company, but has ruled out launching a new flagship phone in 2026.
In a YouTube video previewing the company’s strategy for 2026, promising the 4a phone will “level up” the mid-range series, and bring it much closer to the flagship category.
There’ll be a “bold new experimentation of colour” and a complete evolution vs the Phone (3a) Series. The company promises the cameras, display and processors are all getting an upgrade, but founder and CEO Carl Pei is still staying tight lipped about the details.
We’d expect the Nothing Phone (4a) series to include a standard and a Pro model that may see the light of day at MWC 2026 in February. The firm also plans to “double down” in the over-ear headphones this year, so it’s popular and affordable cans are likely to get a boost too.
It’s all part of phase two for the company where the it’ll mature and focus on product innovation. However, those seeking a brand new flagship will need to wait until 2027. Pei said the Nothing Phone (3) will continue to lead the way for the company for now.
“We’re not just going to churn out a new flagship every year for the sake of it, we want every upgrade to feel significant. Just because the rest of the industry does things a certain way it doesn’t mean we will do the same” – Nothing CEO, Carl Pei.
