A NURSE has been arrested for allegedly abusing babies and breaking their bones as they clung to life in a hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
Cops captured Erin Elizabeth Ann Strotman, 26, after a sick spree of violence left seven babies with “unexplainable fractures.”
Strotman worked at the Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, which saw a disturbing flurry of infant attacks in the past year and a half.
In the summer of 2023, four babies were injured while getting treatment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
And on Christmas Eve of last year, the hospital announced they would no longer accept babies in the NICU due to three more attacks that November and December.
On Friday, Strotman was named as a suspect, and she was arrested after a brief search.
“We are both shocked and saddened by this development in the investigation and are focused on continuing to care for our patients and providing support to our colleagues,” HCA Virginia said in a statement.
Parents first spoke out about the bizarre injuries back when the incidents began, but they were left with nothing but questions.
In August 2023, Dominique and Tori Hackey were horrified when one of their healthy, newborn twins, Noah, suddenly lost movement in one of his legs during his stay in the hospital.
