NVIDIA is making a $5 billion investment into Intel and the two companies will work together on custom data center and client CPUs.
The surprising news today is that NVIDIA and Intel are collaborating to jointly develop data center CPUs and PC products.
Intel products will adopt NVIDIA NVLink support. In addition, they will develop NVIDIA-custom x86 CPUs for AI infrastructure and more.
On the personal computing side, Intel will develop new SoCs that incorporate NVIDIA RTX CPU chiplets for having x86 RTX SoCs for a range of PC use-cases.
