The US launch for the OnePlus 15 was delayed due to the government shutdown, but the FCC has now cleared it for release.

The shutdown, which ended on Nov. 12, left the FCC with a backlog of work. The agency reopened around the same time as the phone’s global launch, but the buildup of applications during the 43-day closure meant OnePlus had to wait for US certification.

As spotted by Reddit user ElectricalPlumb751, the FCC has now approved the phone for a US release, but it has not yet announced a formal release date.

OnePlus has not started US preorders, instead asking interested buyers to sign up for email updates. Given that it’s Black Friday, and nearly the weekend, we probably won’t hear about an official release date until next week at the earliest. We reached out to OnePlus for comment.

OnePlus is now teasing a cheaper phone, the 15R, alongside a new Pad Go 2 tablet, and a European-exclusive smartwatch called the Watch Lite. The brand is set to formally announce them on Dec. 17, but expect to see more teasers in the coming weeks.

Recommended by Our Editors

Our review of the OnePlus 15 gave it four stars, concluding that “the OnePlus 15 holds its own against top Android flagships from Google and Samsung, delivering a sleek design, outstanding battery life, lightning-fast performance, cutting-edge specs, and a dash of AI—all at a refreshingly affordable price.”
