OnePlus is all set to launch its mid-range Nord series on July 8, which will bring two new phones to the market — the OnePlus Nord 5 and the Nord CE 5. The Nord series has always been a go-to option for those who want reliable performance with a hint of gaming, decent photography, and a big battery to handle all the tasks all day. However, a recent leak hints that the tech giant is working on a new phone, which could be aimed at gamers.
Yes, OnePlus is rumoured to be working on a dedicated gaming phone. As per a tipster, Yogesh Brar, a new sub-series from OnePlus, which will be aimed at gamers, is still in the experimental phase. Plus, the global release is dicey, which doesn’t confirm if it will be launched in all the markets across the globe or not.
Isn’t The Nord 5 Series Enough?
If leaks are to be believed, the Nord 5 series is said to bring a bunch of upgrades over its predecessor. As said before, the Nord series usually comes as an all-rounder smartphone in the mid-range segment. On the other hand, the rumoured and experimental phone by OnePlus is expected to be dedicated to gamers, just like Realme, iQOO, and Asus, who brings their dedicated gaming phones.
The tipster suggests that the OnePlus gaming phone will focus on a bigger battery along with a flagship chipset, gaming triggers and more. On the other hand, the Nord series settles with a mid-range processor.
Still, it must be noted that the dedicated gaming phone by OnePlus is just a talk of the leak, which suggests it is still in the experimental phase. It will reach the market or not is still unknown.
OnePlus Nord 5 Series: What To Expect
Based on leaks and rumours, the OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to feature a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and may feature a 50MP main and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, it may settle for a 16MP front camera. OnePlus has confirmed that it will pack the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and Cryo-Velocity VC cooling for better thermal management.
However, the price and availability along with the rest of the specifications will be confirmed on July 8th.
