Nord, the mid-range series by OnePlus, has been part of several leaks and rumours to be launched soon. Just a few days ago, a report suggested the next OnePlus Nord 5 series to be launched in early July 2025. Now, a latest leak sheds light on a prominent date instead of a vague guess.
According to a recent leak, the OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 could both be making their debut on July 8, 2025. The tip comes from well-known tech tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), who has previously shared accurate launch timelines for OnePlus devices.
What’s interesting is that earlier, the same source had hinted that the two phones might launch on separate days, with one possibly dropping during Amazon’s Prime Day sales event. But now, it looks like OnePlus could unveil both phones together on a single day.
OnePlus Nord 5: Possible Design, Specs, Features
While official details are still under wraps, leaks suggest that these new Nord models may be rebranded versions of the OnePlus Ace 5 series, which launched recently in China. The Nord 5 might carry over the design of the Ace 5 Ultra/Extreme Edition, while the Nord CE 5 could resemble the Ace 5 Racing Edition
That means we can expect some noticeable upgrades, at least in terms of battery capacity and charging speeds. Certification listings already hint that the Nord 5 could come with a 6,650mAh battery and 80W fast charging. Meanwhile, both phones have been spotted with global certifications from GCF, IMDA, and other regulatory bodies — a sign that a global release is just around the corner.
While exact specs haven’t been officially confirmed, the OnePlus Ace 5 series gives us a rough idea of what to expect. Ace 5 Ultra, which the Nord 5 might mirror, features a Dimensity 9400+ chipset, a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display (144Hz), and a 50MP dual camera setup. The Ace 5 Racing Edition, likely the base for Nord CE 5, uses the Dimensity 9400e, offers a slightly smaller 6.77-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, and also features dual 50MP rear cameras.
However, the final specifications will be revealed with its official launch, which is yet to be confirmed by the tech giant.
