Press note. Ovhcloud, European Cloud leader with a world presence, has announced the opening of its first Zone store in Lisbon, Portugal. This Zone local adds to the recently opened in different locations in Europe and North America, and provides new opportunities to companies operating or providing services in Portugal, thanks to access to Public Cloud Services of Ovhcloud. Among its main benefits is low latency and local residence of the data, complying with strict sectors security policies such as financial, banking, sanitary and government.
Public Cloud Services with rapid processing and local data storage
The new Zone of Ovhcloud in Lisbon offers customers the advantages of the open and confidence cloud of the group, as well as the benefits derived from the local data residence. Being the data closer to where they are generated or need, and be accessible through the cloud, companies have the guarantee that their data will remain within the geographical limits defined by local regulations or security policies.
The Zones also offer an improved latency. This means that workloads for latency sensitive services, such as e-commerce websites, real-time analytics, content distribution networks (CDN), reproduction and streaming of videos, and cloud gaming, will benefit from faster response times, providing a better user experience. For most customers, the OVHCloud Zone offers offer a single digit latencies in milliseconds, allowing use cases such as high performance cloud gaming with very low latency.

Organizations can already benefit from the functionalities of the Zone premises in Lisbon, including calculation and network resources – with a local public IP – as well as Block Storage, Object Storage and Backup. Thanks to the interactive development model, new services will be deployed in the coming months.
27 local zones worldwide
Currently, Ovhcloud has 27 operational zones worldwide. The first Zone place deployed in Madrid in the spring of 2024, has followed more than twenty local Zones, in locations such as Milan, Amsterdam, Brussels, Rabat, New York or Los Angeles. The group plans to have a total of 42 active zones in August 2025, with a road map to deploy a hundred worldwide in the next two years.
Certified security standards
The Lisbon Zone premises has the ISO/IEC 27001 certification for the Safety of Cloud Services, complemented by the ISO/IEC 14001 certification related to the environmental management system. These certifications guarantee that companies can execute applications in an environment with the highest safety standards, while mitigating their environmental impact.
Availability
The Zone of Lisbon is now available. Public Cloud services can be reserved and executed directly from the OVHCloud user interface.
