Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) has named a new chief finance officer as it prepares for global expansion and the US launch of its new quantum computer.
Robert Coutts, a former KPMG manager and finance chief at Achilles Therapeutics, has been named the new CFO of the company ahead of its US push.
Coutts, who helped oversee the the initial public offering for Achilles, has been brought on as Oxford Quantum Circuits sets its sights on commercialisation.
“This is an inflection point for the quantum sector, and I’m excited to join a company at the heart of that transformation,” Coutts said.
“OQC is poised to lead the transition to commercially viable, logical-era quantum computing. I look forward to working with the team to scale globally and shape the financial strategy needed to support this mission.”
Coutts’ hiring comes amid a handful of senior appointments at the company, including Gerald Mullally as chief executive and Jack Boyer as chair of the board.
“We’re delighted to welcome Robert to OQC. His deep financial expertise and leadership experience will be instrumental as we enter a new phase of commercial growth and product deployment,” Mullally said.
“This appointment reinforces our commitment to building a world-class leadership team capable of delivering on OQC’s global ambitions.”
