PEPSICO has axed countless additions to its soda offerings over the years.
While some discontinued offerings from the company have been barely missed, others have had customers begging for a comeback.

The traditional taste of Pepsi has been an American favorite for about a century, with subtle hints of vanilla and caramel in the cola.
Diet Pepsi is also just as praised, along with Pepsi Zero Sugar, each lower-calorie and healthier options as opposed to the regular.
Other current options available include Pepsi Lime, Pepsi Wild Cherry, and Nitro Pepsi, a nitrogen-infused version of the classic flavoring that supposedly provides a smoother drinking experience.
A new addition, Pepsi Wild Cherry & Cream, was also recently added to the lineup permanently.
While those are the total of the Pepsi sodas in 2025, at least five flavors from the past have customers hoping they’ll arrive again someday soon.
PEPSI TRUE
One of the first that earned some love when it was released was Pepsi True in its stark green labeling.
Pepsi True was PepsiCo’s first response in 2014 to having less sugar in the classic Pepsi.
It had a combination of sugar and stevia, a natural sweetener.
Finding the right mixture of the sweetener and sugar took the company three years, per The Daily Meal.
When it was released, some customers immediately approved, claiming it was even better than the classic Pepsi, and others saying it was a great alternative to diet sodas.
Unfortunately, Pepsi True was kind of an inbetweener — not completely zero sugar or low-calorie, but also not as high-calorie or high-sugar as other classic offerings.
Customers would seem to reach for the others instead, leading it to be axed around 2020.
PEPSI BLUE
In 2002, Pepsi also experimented with a strong berry flavor in an effort to appeal to teens.
As a result, Pepsi Blue was born alongside a campaign that was even promoted with Britney Spears.

Younger fans did enjoy the cotton-candy-like flavor, but adults didn’t like the added sweetness and sugar.
Sales didn’t get high enough as a result and Pepsi Blue vanished in 2004.
While it made a brief return in 2021, it disappeared once again after the limited release to the dismay of many.
It’s unclear if it will ever be offered again.
PEPSI A.M.
Pepsi A.M. could actually have a good chance of making a storied return sometime in the near future.
While PepsiCo has given no indication that this would happen, it seems that the version of the soda with 25% more caffeine would appeal to today’s world full of energy drinks and pre-workouts.
When it launched in the 1980s, customers didn’t respond as well as expected, seemingly a little early for its time.
It was supposed to be an easy alternative for energy instead of coffee in the morning, but it didn’t work out that way, being quickly discontinued before the 90s.
PEPSI SODA SHOP BLACK CHERRY
Since cherry-based offerings seem to be a win for Pepsi, its Pepsi-Cola Soda Shop Black Cherry version could be another good flavor to bring back.
Customers loved the flavor when it was released for a limited time in 2021.
It also had a vintage labeling that was appealing to many.
Still, the company officially confirmed it had been discontinued in 2023.
It remains one of the most popular discontinued Pepsi flavors to date.
PEPSI TWIST
Pepsi Twist was introduced in 2001 after several tests.
It was effectively the classic Pepsi flavoring with a bit of lemon, and became a refreshing option to those who wanted a little bit of citrus and crispness to their soda.
The flavor stuck around for years before it was discontinued.
It was even briefly brought back in 2008 for a brief stint as part of an NFL promo but was again taken away.
Fans have still been crying out for it years later, but Pepsi doesn’t seem to have any plans to have it return again anytime soon.
Coca-Cola also recently dropped a new orange flavor as a permanent addition to its flavor lineup.
The Pepsi competitor is also launching a brand new healthy soda line with five different flavors to rival Poppi.
