He was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition and suffered a broken back, clavicle and neck.
Markwood has since spoken out about the horror that unfolded.
“I’m all right,” he told the local outlet TribLive.
“I can’t really sleep. I have a lot of back pain.”
Markwood, an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, revealed he had “broken everything.”
He also revealed he expects to be released from the hospital next week.
Footage of Markwood’s fall went viral, leaving social media users, baseball fans and players horrified.
He said that he has not watched the footage while in the hospital.
Markwood spoke out just hours after a new video showed the build-up to the tragic accident.
A shirtless Markwood jumped up in excitement before he ended up tumbling over the railings.
Officials revealed that Markwood had two beers at the game, but do not believe he was drunk.
His family have provided health updates as he recovers in the hospital.
On May 3, Jennifer Phillips, Alonna’s mom, revealed Markwood was alert and able to speak.
“This progress feels nothing short of miraculous,” she posted on GoFundMe.
“He still has a long road ahead of him, but today brought a moment of hope that we’ve all been holding onto.”
