POCO, a leading technology brand among young tech enthusiasts, unveiled the POCO X7 Pro, POCO X7, and a special POCO X7 Pro – Iron Man Edition on January 9, further expanding its X Series with a focus on practicality, durability, and trend-setting design. The POCO X7 Pro is available in black, green, and yellow. Our team received the yellow variant for testing and spent two weeks using it as our daily driver. Here’s our in-depth experience with the device.
Design: bold and energetic
The POCO X7 Pro boasts a minimalist design with a faux leather back, offering a refined texture while resisting fingerprints. Its bold black-and-yellow color scheme caters to the aesthetic preferences of young users. Weighing just 195g and measuring 8.29mm thick, the device provides a comfortable grip, ensuring ease of use even during extended periods.
The screen offers a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3200 nits peak brightness. Whether for daily use or gaming, it delivers a smooth and responsive experience. The IP68 rating for dust and water resistance offers enhanced protection, with water resistance of up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
Powered by Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor
The POCO X7 Pro is powered by the flagship Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor, which makes its global debut as the most powerful chipset in the X Series. Built on TSMC’s advanced 4nm process and featuring an All-Big-Core design, the Dimensity 8400-Ultra delivers power efficiency improvements—54% for the CPU and 70% for the GPU—while offering a 50% boost in AI performance compared to its predecessor, according to the company.
Camera: 50MP main sensor delivers decent performance
The POCO X7 Pro features a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS, allowing 65% more light intake for sharper, more vibrant photos, even in low light. On the front, a 20MP selfie camera ensures crisp, detailed shots that stand out. Here are some photos we captured over two weeks.
6,000mAh battery and 90W fast charging
The POCO X7 Pro leads the way with its 6,000mAh battery, the largest capacity in POCO’s history, offering up to 14.5 hours of continuous use. With 90W fast charging, it charges from 0 to 100% in just 42 minutes. This model is available in three configurations: 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB. It starts at $299 for the base storage, though prices may vary depending on the region and sales channel.
