BARCELONA—Your next phone may be more battery than anything else. At Mobile World Congress, Realme outlined its plans to increase the size of its phone batteries over the next few generations until it reaches 10,000mAh—double what many of today’s flagship phones use.
The company spoke about its three-year strategic plan at MWC this year. It wants to double its market share and believes it has the ideas to do it. Its first step will be introducing more AI features that appeal to younger users. Realme says it will bring a voice-based photo editing tool to phones in the near future. You’ll be able to say, “Change the background to fireworks” when editing photos or easily erase background objects from videos. The company also plans to work closely with gaming studios to bring exclusive titles to its phones. More importantly, it wants battery anxiety to be a thing of the past.
The company’s current-generation phones have 6,000mAh batteries, which is 20% more than the 5,000mAh batteries found in many of today’s top devices, like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. It plans to extend that to 7,500mAh next year and eventually push battery capacities up to 10,000mAh. Many of the phones tested by PCMag run between 12 and 15 hours with a 5,000mAh battery. Doubling that to 10,000mAh would likely lead to a battery life of well more than 24 hours and a standby time that is measured in days.
It’s all starting with the Realme 14 Pro+. We took a look.
Affordable Flagship
The Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro+ are mostly the same and take the company’s vision of affordable flagships to the next level.

One of the most striking aspects of the 14 Pro and Pro+ is the striking Unique Pearl Design. The rear panel has the variable coloring of a pearl and can change color to blue, “reminiscent of deep-sea creatures” when introduced to cold temperatures, such as water. The phone also comes in a black vegan leather variant.
The phones share a 6.7-inch screen, a 50MP camera with 120x SuperZoom, and an IP68/69 rating for protection against immersion and water jets. The Pro is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, while the Pro+ runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip. The Pro+ also has curved display glass and a faster 120fps screen rate when playing select games. And, of course, both phones have a huge 6,000mAh battery.

The devices feel about the same to hold and use. They have metal frames and Realme’s version of Gorilla Glass to make the more durable. The weight is good, the controls work well, and the screens look great. The large, raised camera module on the rear is stylish and has a gold-colored frame on the pearl color.
The phones go on sale in Europe later this year. The Realme 14 will cost about $430, while the 10 Pro+ will cost about $530.
