One of the biggest nuisances is having to charge the battery, which can leave you without any visibility from your front door for a number of hours.
An accessory that helps get around this is the solar charger.
And with weather starting to brighten up across the UK this week it could be the best time to consider one.

“I’ve had mine since the end of February and I’ve not had to charge mine since,” one buyer wrote on HotUKDeals.
“Really made a difference for me.”
Another said: “This is decent.
“Extends battery but does not stop need for recharge especially in winter. It’s worth it for the money.”
The device works with selected Ring doorbell models, including:
- Ring Doorbell 3
- Ring Doorbell 3 Plus
- Ring Doorbell 4
- Ring Doorbell Plus
- Ring Doorbell Battery Pro
The Ring Solar Charger usually costs £40 to buy from Ring directly.
But currently a highly-rated eBay seller is listing the official device for £20.
You can save even more money with a discount code at the moment.
Selected accounts can add the code LOOPY20 at the checkout for 20 per cent off.
Will the Ring Solar Charger work for me?
According to Ring, battery-powered doorbell can stay charged even longer than before with just three to four hours of direct sunlight every day.
“For best results, install facing south if located in the northern hemisphere; install facing north if located in the southern hemisphere,” the company says.
That will bring the device’s total cost down to £15.96.
The LOOPY20 code is only valid until May 2 so there are only a few days left to take advantage of the offer.
