Disney+ and Hulu are almost totally merged, with a combined login so you can get Hulu either in its own app or as a Disney+ channel. Disney leads with the Marvel and Star Wars franchises, while Hulu serves a more mature audience with movies and shows from network partners like Fox.
The two services release a ton of stuff every week, so I try to help by picking three worthwhile items to put on your calendar. This week has a fun spread of stuff, from wacky anime to gripping British dramas and documentary series. The full list of content coming to the streaming services is below.
This Week on Hulu and Disney+: PCMag’s Picks
Malpractice (March 13, Hulu)
Hulu has a sterling track record in bringing over British dramas that are a cut above, and Malpractice is no exception. Each of the two seasons of the show, which premiered in 2023, tells a self-contained story about a medical professional who makes a decision under pressure and has to live with the consequences. Reviews are uniformly great for both, so if you need to kill time in between episodes of The Pitt, this might scratch that itch.

Rooster Fighter (March 15, Hulu)
The world of anime has seen all kinds of heroes step up to battle evil, but Rooster Fighter, based on a web manga by Shū Sakuratani, brings some hot chicken to the plate. Keiji is a wandering chicken in Japan seeking revenge against demons for the murder of his sister. It’s basically a classical samurai story through a bizarre postmodern lens, with wild fight choreography and goofy supporting characters.
Life After People (March 19, Hulu)
Thinking about the end of the world isn’t my favorite hobby, but I seem to do it a lot these days. History Channel series Life After People made a return to the airwaves last year, and it’s a fascinating little excursion into what things are going to look like when Homo sapiens goes extinct. Visiting various locations, each episode touches on both current-day abandoned places and what major areas could become in a post-human future.
