Samsung’s next Galaxy flagships might land sooner than recent rumours have suggested.

A new report out of Korea (Chosun, via Jukan on X) says the Galaxy S26 series is now on track for a late-January announcement, with the series set to hit shelves by mid-February, reversing chatter that Unpacked had slipped to late February. That would keep Samsung close to this year’s cadence and give it an early run at 2026’s premium phone cycle.

The chipset picture is starting to settle, with the report saying that despite the all-Exynos chatter, only the Galaxy S26 and S26+ will run Samsung’s Exynos 2600. The S26 Ultra is said to stick with Qualcomm’s new top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, likely with the usual “for Galaxy” tuning.

There’s no market map yet, and Samsung has historically split chips by region, so we’ll see whether Exynos shows up broadly or stays limited to select countries. If previous releases are anything to go by, it’ll be the US that gets the Snapdragon variant, while those in the UK, EU and other regions could get the Exynos chipset.

Confidence in this new schedule is high, with Chosun’s insider stating that Samsung briefly juggled models internally, which sparked rumours of delay, but those adjustments are now settled. With the plan locked in, invites could go out soon after the new year, pre-orders could open quickly, and units could hit shelves around mid-February.

As for cameras, recent leaks point to modest upgrades for the base models, while the Ultra’s changes remain murkier. The move to a rounder, more ergonomic design has been hinted at elsewhere, but the flat edges are said to remain across the S26 collection.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind though; namely, none of this is official until Samsung says so. Costs and tariffs could nudge up Ultra pricing, and the Exynos/Snapdragon split may impact performance and battery life, depending on where you purchase.

Even so, if you’ve been waiting to upgrade, the window you’re watching just shifted forward, with a late January Galaxy S26 reveal and mid-February for day-one buyers looking increasingly likely based on the latest reports.
