Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 rumored release date & pricing
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to launch alongside the Z Fold 7 in July 2025, following the trend of recent Z Flip launches.
In terms of specifics, rumors suggest that the company is gearing up for an early July launch, potentially on 10 July 2025, though others claim that it’ll coincide with a Galaxy Watch-themed event taking place in New York on 13 July 2025. Either way, it’s just weeks away, and with Samsung teasing the foldable launch, we know we’re not too far off.
According to one tipster, @PandaFlashPro on X, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to retain the same prices as the Z Flip 6 in most markets.
This would make the foldable around $1099.99/£1049 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, or $1219.99/£1149 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage if we’re to go off the prices of the Z Flip 6.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 design and screen rumors
While rumors suggest that this is a big year for the book-style Galaxy Z Fold 7, the same can’t be said for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. That said, Samsung has claimed that its Galaxy Z models will be thinner, lighter, and more durable than their predecessors, so changes are headed to the flip-style device.
The main change comes in the screen department. The main source of the rumour is Counterpoint Research VP and DisplaySearch and DSCC founder Ross Young, who claimed that the “Flip 7 should grow from 6.7″ to 6.85″ and cover display should be around 4″” in a post on X. Whether this means thinner bezels or a larger phone remains unclear.
A separate rumor also suggests that the larger 6.85-inch screen will have much less of a visible crease, making for a more seamless foldable experience than what’s presently available.
Considering we’ve since seen a leaked real-world photo of the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s cover screen glass, it seems almost a given at this stage.
That said, we’ve also seen renders of the upcoming flip phone courtesy of OnLeaks and Android Headlines, showcasing a much larger cover screen with much slimmer bezels than those of the Z Flip 6.
On the design front, it’s said that the Z Flip 7’s hinge mechanism will be smoother and durable, though other elements – like button placement – will be identical. It’s also rumored to be available in Coral Red, alongside black and blue shades.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 camera rumors
When it comes to cameras, it appears to be more of the same from Samsung.
According to a report by the Dutch website GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to feature the same combination of cameras as the Z Flip 6, including a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the rear, alongside the same 10-megapixel front camera.
And, with a second leak backing up these claims, it seems like it could very much be the case.
The initial report also states that there is no indication that Samsung will add anything exciting, such as a telephoto camera or an under-display camera, although Samsung would argue that new hardware is not necessarily needed to boost overall image quality.
To that end, rumors point to the use of the Galaxy S25’s upgraded ProVisual Engine in the Z Flip 7, which uses AI to boost the quality of photos and videos taken.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 performance and software rumors
According to Korean outlet Chosun Biz, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 chipset as opposed to a top-end Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm. If true, this would make the Flip 7 the first Samsung foldable running on an Exynos chip.
Exynos chips have traditionally fallen short of Snapdragon ones on the S Series, with the former often relegated to UK and European models. However, we haven’t tested the Exynos 2500 yet, so perhaps this chip will close that performance gap once and for all.
That said, there are still rumors about a Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Z Flip 7, so it could be a case of certain regions getting the Snapdragon model, while others get the Exynos model.
Samsung has employed a similar tactic on its Galaxy S range in the past, so it wouldn’t be an unprecedented step. However, it would be frustrating for fans, especially if Samsung’s in-house chip can’t compete with Qualcomm’s alternative.
Beyond that, several rumors claim that the Z Flip 7 will come with 12GB of RAM and two storage configurations: 256GB and 512GB. Those are the same options available on the Z Flip 6.
Battery life could also be improved this year, with multiple sources indicating a larger 4300mAh cell, up from the 4000mAh of its predecessor. Considering it has even been mentioned in product certification, it seems almost certain at this stage.
Software-wise, the phone is said to ship with the upgraded OneUI 8 based on Android 16, skipping OneUI 7 entirely. There will likely be new AI tools to accompany it, not least including new elements like the Now Brief, which appeared on the Galaxy S25 series as part of OneUI 7 earlier this year.
