Samsung plans to launch a new model in 2025

By resting too much on its laurels, Samsung sees its crown as world number one being more threatened than ever. The alerts follow one another for the South Korean giant which was stolen first place in 2023 by Apple and which has ceded ground to Huawei in the folding segment. A situation alarming enough to push Samsung to bring back the heating blue to innovate. This innovation comes through Galaxy AI, a suite of AI features intriguing enough to put the Galaxy S24 line on the path to success. An appearance which also makes us forget that the hardware developments are minimal compared to the previous generation.

Samsung’s limits are also visible with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, two smartphones which rely heavily on the introduction of artificial intelligence. Problem is, the novelty effect has disappeared and the series is up against ambitious competition. The recent Honor Magic V3, the thinnest folding smartphone in the world, shows that the South Korean giant no longer has a lead in a market in which it has long reigned supreme. Other brands like Motorola, OnePlus or Xiaomi are no longer hiding and are directly threatening Samsung. Once again, the brand waited for this warning to show its ability to innovate by offering the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.

This smartphone is more technically advanced than the lower Galaxy Z Fold6, but it is intended only for the Korean market. Too bad for Europe which will be waiting for the probable Galaxy Z Fold7 or a possible Galaxy S25… Slim.

Galaxy S25 Slim: Samsung’s seductive advantage in 2025?

While the sector expects to discover three Galaxy S25s at the beginning of 2025, the manufacturer could surprise with a fourth model. The idea is gaining ground and the media Smartprix discovered the existence of a new model called SM-S937U. This code name does not correspond to any reference of the future Galaxy S25, which suggests that there will be a model in addition to the usual “classic”, Plus and Ultra Galaxy S25.

This famous model would be the Galaxy S25 Slim, a smartphone with a thinner and lighter design than existing variants. This would be a direct response from Samsung to rumors of the arrival of an iPhone 17 Slim in 2025 to replace the iPhone Plus. This model would not arrive at the same time as the rest of the Galaxy S25 series, but during the second quarter of 2025. The announcement could take place between the months of April and June, allowing Samsung to occupy the field between the release of the first Galaxy S25 and the next Galaxy Z.

No technical information has leaked about this possible Slim model, except that it will have an “Ultra” camera” if Ice Universe is to be believed. The famous leaker revealed this information on his X account without further details, but we can expect a careful configuration. This model could be inspired by the Galaxy S25 Ultra, a smartphone which would still have four photo modules. Rumors still mention a 200 Mpx main sensor (wide-angle) with OIS, as well as a 50 Mpx ultra-wide-angle and two telephoto lenses (x3 and x5).
