Siemens has confirmed that It will open a technological hub for data centers in the Iberia regionwhich reinforces the role of Spain as a digital entrance door to southern Europe, in a context in which the sector is growing strongly. The hub will be In three songs (Madrid)and will have a satellite team in Aragon.
It will work as an innovation center for the sector, and it is expected that its workforce will grow up to 30 people in the next three years. Spain is one of the main destinations for investments in the data centers sector in Europe, due to its location, availability of renewable energy and connectivity.
At the end of 2024, Madrid reached 195 MW of installed power, 32% more than the previous year and surpassing the main European markets. At present, Spain has a power of 356 MW, with Madrid, Barcelona and Aragon as the focus of growth. In this sense, given the interest that Aragon has generated among some great global actors to locate its data centers in the area, Siemens has decided to assess its regional headquarters in Zaragoza to the Aragonese District of Technology (DAT).
This Hub will have solutions to facilitate efficient operation and a reduction in resource consumption, and will use Siemens design and simulation technologies to strengthen the sustainability of its infrastructure.
