One of the features viewers love most is the ability to download shows and movies onto their Sky Q box.
This is ideal when there might be an outage or poor connection from a storm outside.
But sometimes your broadband speed or box can randomly slow down without any explanation.

- Then check it again the numbers shown on this Sky page, under Sky Q
If it’s not up-to-date, go back to the System info page and follow these steps:

Is it your router?
If you’re running on Wi-Fi, could there be an object blocking it from reaching your Sky Q box?
A number of common household items can cause signal interference, including cordless phones, fish tanks and even mirrors, if they’re too close to your router.
This would not only affect the connection to your Sky Q box but other devices around your home.
So check your router for any of the following items.
APPLIANCES THAT INTERFERE WITH YOUR WI-FI
Popular home appliances and electricals can interfere with your Wi-Fi signal when placed too near to your router. These include:
- Speakers
- TV
- Microwave
- Oven
- Christmas lights
- Refrigerator
- Dishwasher
- Washing machine
- Cordless phone
- Kettle
- Toaster
- Water pipes
- Other people’s WiFi routers
Switch to ethernet
For those still having trouble with the connection to their Sky Q box it might be worth switching to an ethernet cable instead.
You can get one fairly cheaply on Amazon and other sites.
This means you’ll have a plugged connection from your Sky Q box directly to your router, so there’s no chance of wireless disruptions.
