Cloud AI data company Snowflake has confirmed that it has reached an agreement to Buy Observe, an AI-powered observability company. Since its inception, Observe was built on the foundation of Snowflake, and now joins it with the goal of offering companies agentic AI to accelerate problem resolution, an open standard architecture developed to facilitate the scaling and complete retention of telemetry data. The conditions of the operation are unknown for now.
The combination of Observe’s AI-powered site reliability engineering (SRE) and data in Snowflake allows you to move from reactive monitoring to proactive, automated problem resolution. Observe AI SRE leverages a unified context graph that correlates logs, metrics, and traces.
This way, teams can detect anomalies earlier, identify causes more quickly, and resolve production issues more quickly. This causes systems to become progressively more distributed, dynamic and autonomous, improving operational resilience.
The operation between both companies also establishes a unified and open standard observability architecture, based on Apache Iceberg and OpenTelemetry. This approach enables enterprises to manage large volumes of telemetry using cost-effective object storage, elastic computing, and interoperable standards. All of this provides a foundation for operating AI agents and applications at scale.
By treating telemetry as first-class data within Snowflake’s AI data cloud, enterprises can consistently apply analytics and AI across observability and business data with more flexibility and governance.
On the other hand, as AI-enabled applications generate huge volumes of metric logs and traces, enterprises can, by unifying Observe’s AI-powered observability platform with Snowflake’s scalable database, retain high-fidelity telemetry data. This reduces the cost of observability and improves visibility across your entire data asset.
Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO de Snowflakehighlighted about the operation that «As our customers build increasingly complex AI agents and data applications, reliability is no longer just an IT metric, it’s a business imperative. By integrating Observe capabilities directly into Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud, we are empowering our customers to manage enterprise-level observability, spanning terabytes to petabytes of telemetry, with an open, scalable architecture and AI-powered troubleshooting workflows.«.
Jeremy Burton, CEO de Observehas commented for his part that «Observability is fundamentally a data problem, and adding Observe to Snowflake is a natural extension of its AI Data Cloud, allowing us to accelerate our observability solution to true enterprise scale. As AI redefines how applications are built, the bottleneck has shifted from writing code to operating and troubleshooting complex systems in production. Observe was born for this moment. By combining our AI-powered SRE with Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud, we can deliver insights faster, with greater reliability and significantly better profitability. Together, we will help businesses run the next generation of AI applications and agents with confidence.«.
