Soundcore, the audio sub-brand of Anker Innovations shows no signs of slowing up with its launch of new products ready for the all-important gifting season. Today sees the arrival of the Soundcore AeroFit 2 open ear earbuds.
Because the way consumers listen to music changes, Soundcore has redesigned the form factor of the AeroFit 2 to offer a more comfortable design with rotatable ear hooks that adjust to a user’s ears more easily.
One criticism of open earbuds is they don’t always fit well, depending on the size of the wearer’s ears. Soundcore hopes its new design will address this shortcoming.
Soundcore’s engineers have also updated the shape of the new earbuds with a dual-curved design to help match the shape of the human ear more naturally. A sleek form factor with a narrow connector makes the AeroFit 2 sit behind a user’s ear so the earbuds don’t interfere with the fit for people who wear glasses.
The open ear design of the AeroFit 2 enable the housings to sit outside the ear canal while directing music, with minimal sound leakage towards the wearer’s ears, but without blocking external sounds like passing cars or buses.
The new AeroFit2 has a BassTurbo Acoustic Architecture with a 20mm x 11.5mm racetrack driver. Soundcore claims the earbuds offer a clean sound with a refined bass response alongside clear mids and high frequencies. They also feature Hi-Res Wireless Audio with LDAC decoding for compatible devices.
The earbuds can play for up to 10 hours on a single charge and a total of 42 hours with the charge in the storage case that also has wireless charging capability. Putting the earbuds back in the case provides fast charging, with 10 minutes of recharging extending playtime by four hours.
Other features included with the AeroFit 2 are twin noise-reducing microphones on each ear. That’s a total of four microphones for making phone calls. Powered by Bluetooth 5.4 and supporting Multipoint connection, the earbuds can connect with two devices and switch between them for music or phone calls.
The AeroFit2 can be controlled with the Soundcore which enables the earbuds to app. Have their sound and touch controls customized. The AeroFit 2 are also rated IP55 waterproof, making them fine for running or biking in the rain.
