The “fair Price” of DAZN is shattering, even before mid-season. Set at 39.99 euros per month without commitment and 29.99 euros per month with commitment, DAZN’s prices quickly became controversial. Football fans believe that the streaming service costs too much in relation to the offer offered. Despite an offensive to make itself available on as many platforms as possible, DAZN is still looking for its audience. The British sports streaming service has been carrying out commercial operations for several weeks.
Before the derby between Lyon and Saint-Étienne, the main broadcaster of Ligue 1 decided to slash prices in partnership with Amazon. Prime subscribers can benefit from DAZN at a preferential rate of 14.99 euros per month, a reduction of more than 60% compared to the initial price. This amount is valid for 8 months and the commitment is monthly, which means that it is possible to cancel before the offer drops to 39.99 euros.
Only for Prime subscribers
To benefit from it, you must be a Prime member. Amazon has started sending this temporary offer via notifications and emails. If this is not your case and the DAZN offer interests you, however, it is not relevant to go through Amazon. In fact, you must have a Prime subscription at 6.99 euros per month or 69.90 euros per year to access this reduced rate.
With this exclusive promotion, DAZN hopes to attract former subscribers to the Amazon Ligue 1 Pass. This reduced price also demonstrates the urgency for the platform to recruit new subscribers. The new broadcaster does not officially communicate its figures, but DAZN would have a hard time convincing French football fans. According to L’Équipe, the service only has 500,000 subscribers while the objective is to reach 1.5 million subscribers. Even with reduced prices, DAZN will also have to regain the trust of football fans. Many have boycotted the streaming platform since the start of the season, preferring to turn to pirate IPTV.
