If we compare this new Xiaomi compressor to his predecessor, he clearly did the inflator and almost doubled in volume. But that does not prevent him from remaining after all compact. Indeed, this new model takes up the iconic “briquette” Xiaomi, with a readable screen and a magnetic pipe which also serves as a handle. The format remains ultra-portable (around 123 × 75.5 × 45.8 mm for around 490 g) and the perceived quality is there. A appreciable bonus, the Compressor 2 is supplied with an extension of pipe and adds a Schrader adapter to quick connection: no more tedious screws on the car/motorcycle valves. We connect, we inflate.

On the grip side, it’s plug-and-play: The hose is drawn from its storage, the device lights upwe choose a target mode or pressure, we launch and let it manage. The LED lamp integrated on the back really helps out by the roadside, as well as the loupiote located on the top, for more contained lighting. We would have just liked a screen printing of more contrasted pimples (black on black, not always ideal) and a pipe still a longer chouïa for the “hidden” valves.
Performance: Quick on bike, effective in a cargo
On the urban bike, the verdict is final: we go from 0 to 3 bars in less than a minute. For a punctual upgrade on a car (eg +0.3 bar), the Xiaomi compressor is coming out quickly and also well. He is obviously not a workshop compressor: completely removing a flat car tire will take time. But for regular maintenance, the comfort gain is enormous … and we avoid having to look for a service station.
Xiaomi clearly muscled generation 2 with higher speed and practical presets (bike, motorcycle, car, e-scooter, balloon, manual) with automatic stop. Be careful however: the pre-regulated profiles are capped. For a road tire at 6 bars, head to manual mode to release the full beach (up to 10.3 bars / 150 psi). Ditto for certain specificities in Gravel. It’s a helping hand to take.
What about the balloons? Compressor 2 comes with a needle. Whether it is a soccer ball for the Sunday match, a basketball ball that has lost a little tone or even an inflatable unicorn for the swimming pool, the Xiaomi portable Electric Air Compressor 2 simplifies everything. We screw the needle, we select the “balloon” mode and launch: the device just sends the necessary pressure, then stops automatically to avoid any unpleasant surprises. During our tests, a standard football ball went from “soft” to perfectly inflated in a small second. No need to check permanently, no risk of bursting the bladder: it is real comfort and safety.
Noise and autonomy: the expected compromise
Like all electric mini-pumps, it makes noise. Here, we stay around 80 dB measured nearby : it surprises the first time but it’s short and bearable. Autonomy is “good without more“Let us say: 2,000 mAh battery and connectors in USB-C. Count about three hours for a full load. If you have a bicycle, you are quiet for several months. On mixed use (bikes + small auto corrections), we hold several sessions before recharge. Some competing models have a larger battery, but are also larger … It is therefore a choice to be made. Autonomy/Compressor 2 of Xiaomi is even a plus.
Are we buying or not?
Yes, without hesitation if you are looking for an electric inflator for versatile use and you favor compact format. It is clearly a “maintenance” device more than “total aid”. It excels in the upgrade of tires and in the rapid inflation of balloons or bicycle tires, but does not replace a large compressor if you have to fully re -inflate a punctured car tire.
