At One-Netbook, we like objects that don’t look like their neighbors. After the OneXSugar Sugar 1 and its modular design, the Chinese brand puts a piece back in the machine with the OneXSugar Wallet. The principle is simple on paper: a portable console equipped with a unique folding OLED screen, capable of going from a compact format to a real small living room screen once opened.
A console that adapts to all desires
Unfolded, the Wallet reveals an 8.01-inch panel displaying 2,480 X 1,860 pixels. The 4:3 ratio is a nod to retro-gaming enthusiasts, while remaining usable for more recent games. Folded, on the other hand, the console is more reminiscent of a thick pencil case than a discreet device to slip into a jeans pocket. Portable, yes. Minimalist, probably a little less.

On the controls side, no excessive fantasy: two asymmetrical analog sticks, four action buttons, a D-pad, triggers on the back, everything is well in place. Two speakers on the front frame the upper part of the screen. In short, the essentials are there to play comfortably, including demanding titles like Genshin Impactregularly highlighted in demonstrations.
Where the OneXSugar Wallet becomes more mysterious is in the area of technical characteristics. One-Netbook refers to a “flagship gaming chip” from Qualcomm, without specifying which one or the quantity of onboard RAM. Suffice to say that it is still too early to judge the real performance or emulation capabilities of the machine.
The manufacturer, however, highlights a fairly rich software interface: quick settings, power profiles to save the battery, button configuration, ventilation control… The description even mentions a “split screen” mode when the device is folded, which is intriguing, since no external screen is visible in the images broadcast. An idea ahead of communication, no doubt.
There remains the question that always annoys a little: the Price. The market for high-end portable consoles is already not kind, with models flirting with or happily exceeding €1,000. As for folding screen devices, like the Google Pixel Fold or the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, we are closer to €2,000… If the OneXSugar Wallet aligns with these prices, its name could then take on a very literal flavor.
