The British government is sticking by its pledge to move beyond a handful of major corporations to work closely with defence tech SMEs, according to a leading figure in the industry.
This shift in approach has been on the cards for a while as the government has been urged over the years to make procurement in fields such as defence more competitive.
But while ministers had up until quite recently offered little more than lip service to this end, according to Adrian Cunningham, executive co-chair of of PentenAmio, the intent to work with smaller defence tech providers has finally come through with gusto.
