In a recent ERP Today roundtable discussion, industry leaders from IBM, Oracle, and Accelalpha unveiled the core vision of their newly formed partnership: delivering client success through enhanced business vitality.
Corinne Koppel, Global Oracle Practice Leader at IBM, emphasized the importance of helping businesses thrive in both stable and uncertain times. The collaborative intent is not only to improve client relationships but also to build a robust foundation for enterprise success, she said about IBM’s acquisition of Oracle-services provider Accelalpha that was finalized in Q4 2024.
The acquisition marks a significant milestone in IBM’s growth trajectory as it adds crucial finance and supply chain capabilities to its offerings. Moreover, the company has grown its geographic reach with Accelalpha’s team of consultants across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America, onboarding at IBM on the completion of the deal.
Koppel noted, “We’re focused on four key geographies for growth: the Americas, the UK & Ireland, and Japan. Now, with Accelalpha, we’re able to enhance that reach across all these regions while adding focus to our key markets.”
Paul Pessutti, Senior Vice President at Oracle, expressed his optimism about the acquisition, describing it as “the coming together of two exceptional firms where we already have strong, deep relationships and trust built up within Oracle and with our clients.”
This sentiment resonated with Dan Haller, Group Vice President at Oracle, who observed that customers, especially in the supply chain space, who need enterprise transformations, could really benefit from the partnership. “[We have] some strong functional supply chain capabilities, and IBM is well known as a global systems invitation partner that works with customers strategically in the industries it is focused on,” he said.
The collaboration between Accelalpha and IBM is viewed as a “logical marriage” by Joe Spear, Partner at Accelalpha.
The combined capabilities of both organizations promise to deliver comprehensive solutions that address core business challenges globally. Spear noted that Accelalpha excels in Oracle implementations covering core ERP, Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), logistics, and customer experience suites—components essential for addressing fundamental business issues.
With IBM’s distinguished managed services portfolio, both companies are poised to deliver end-to-end support for clients, enhancing the client experience post-implementation.
Kevin Beyer, Managing Partner at Accelalpha, expressed enthusiasm about integrating this service with Accelalpha’s offerings for continuous support and software lifecycle management. “IBM is ranked as a global leader in the managed service offering, and we’re able to bring that to our customers now,” he said.
An exciting frontier of this partnership is the integration of Generative AI (GenAI). Teams from all three organizations are eager to collaborate and leverage AI capabilities to enhance business processes.
Chacko Thomas, Americas Oracle Practice Leader at IBM, illustrated practical applications where intelligent workflows can rapidly assess business processes and provide swift ROI assessments.
As the wheels of this partnership continue to turn, the collaboration between IBM, Oracle, and Accelalpha promises to be transformative for enterprises seeking innovative solutions and strategies.
Thomas concluded: “We’ve been very clear about this right from our announcement of the acquisition. We are committed to keeping the Oracle channels whole. We have committed to keeping the business model, which includes pricing and other things. In fact, Accelalpha will now have access to all of IBM’s enterprise bands, so it will only get better in terms of scale and depth.”
