THE Kansas City Chiefs are just one game away from pulling off the historic threepeat.
The only thing standing between the Chiefs and history is the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Chiefs have secured themselves as one of the great dynasties in NFL history, and they can become the greatest with the first-ever threepeat in Super Bowl LIX.
While the Eagles are one of the best teams in the NFL, the Chiefs are the best of the best and will knock them off without an issue.
With the combination of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and a top tier defense, the chiefs should have no problem etching their names into the history books.
Here is why the Chiefs will win Super Bowl LIX on February 9:
PLAYOFF TRAVIS KELCE IS A DIFFERENT BEAST
There is no question that Kelce had one of the worst seasons of his professional career in 2024.
He put up his lowest-ever totals in both yardage (823 yards) and touchdowns (3).
However, Kelce always finds a way to turn things up a notch once he gets into the playoffs.
In two playoff games, Kelce has registered 136 yards and a touchdown.
If you took that number over a whole season, Kelce would’ve finished the year with 1,156 yards and eight touchdowns. That would be one of the best years of his career.
Simply put, you can never count Travis Kelce out of making a big impact on any game he is in, especially if it’s the Super Bowl.
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Super Bowl LIX is a matchup between two of the best defenses in the NFL.
The Eagles allow the least points per game at 17.5 while the Chiefs allow the fourth-fewest at 19.2.
The Eagles allow the least yards per game at 278 while the Chiefs allow the eight-fewest at 317.
So far in the playoffs, the Eagles haven’t faced a defense quite as good as the Chiefs, and they could be in for a shock when guys like Chris Jones start disrupting the game plan.
The Eagles gave up a whopping 45 sacks to opposing teams this season, and the Chiefs sacked the quarterback 39 times this year.
Jalen Hurts could be in for a world of pain during the Super Bowl if the Chiefs keep up the pressure.
PATRICK MAHOMES MIGHT BE THE GOAT
Mahomes is a baller in the playoffs, already having three Super Bowl rings in his trophy cabinet.
If he wins a fourth Super Bowl this year, and a third consecutive one at that, it might be time to start putting him in GOAT conversations.
While he is statistically still a long ways away from Tom Brady, there is no doubting Mahomes’ ability in the clutch.
Mahomes will probably have another generational game in Super Bowl LIX, and if he does he will have four of Brady’s seven Super Bowls.
The Chiefs are turning into one of the greatest teams of all time because they have one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
