Designed for “distraction-free productivity” DuRoBo’s Krono is a three-in-one, pocket-sized e-ink tablet that works as an e-reader, AI-powered note taker and even an audio player.
Naturally with productivity at its forefront, the Krono doesn’t come with heaps of pre-installed bloatware. However, as it runs on an open Android platform, you’re free to install as many (or as little) third-party productivity tools, reading apps and communication software as you need. This includes the likes of Wattpad, Gmail, Spotify and more.
With a 6.13-inch 300PPI HD display, the Krono offers an e-ink, paper-like experience that resembles an actual book rather than the likes of more traditional LCD or LED tablets.
The tablet itself has a clean, paired-back design that’s equipped with a rotating side dial and eight so-called “breathing lights” which DuRoBo says “glow in quiet harmony with your moments of concentration”. Sure, the latter feels more like a gimmick than otherwise, but it’s certainly in-keeping with the distraction-free hub.
Controlling the Krono is simple, thanks to its touchscreen display and its aforementioned side dial, which opens up Spark, Krono’s tool for capturing voice notes. Once you’ve recorded your note, you’ll then have the option to use Speech-to-Text to receive a transcript and apply an AI summary to see the key points.
You can also refine a voice note by switching to Text Mode instead.
That’s not where Krono’s prowess ends. Its built-in speaker and Bluetooth support allows you to listen to your podcasts, audiobooks and more on the go too.
DuRoBo promises that the Krono’s whopping 128GB storage means there’s enough space to hold over 5000 e-books, hundreds of podcast series and “countless voice note recordings” too.
Otherwise at just 173g, the Krono is a seriously lightweight device that can be easily carted around whether you’re in between meetings, commuting or travelling.
The Krono is currently available for pre-sale with an RRP of €279. Its official launch is set for Q4 2025, with an expected slight price increase up to €299.
