Since the release of the PS5 back in 2020, the console has dominated. It has great performance with next-gen loading times, innovative controller and trigger feedback and a whole host of PS5 exclusive titles. The problem is the cost; at £429 for the PS5 Digital, it’s a big investment.
However, we’ve spotted an unbelievable offer on the PS5 Digital at AO. For a limited time, the storefront is selling the PS5 Digital for just £295 – a massive reduction of £134 compared to the RRP. This makes it the cheapest it has ever been at AO, and quite likely, at any UK retailer. We certainly can’t remember a time when the PS5 has dropped quite this low.

That does mean that demand for the console will be extremely high, even by Black Friday standards, so if you are tempted, we’d recommend picking it up sooner rather than later.
Sony’s original PS5 Digital Edition may not be the new, slimmer kid on the block, but it’s still a fantastic way to jump into new-gen gaming – as long as you don’t need a disc drive. But if you’re already in on digital games, PS Plus and sales on the PS Store, skipping the disc tray is a very easy trade to make.
Otherwise, you’re getting the same core experience as the standard PS5 with lightning-fast loading times thanks to that custom SSD, gorgeous 4K visuals and the full PlayStation ecosystem of exclusives like Spider-Man, God of War and Horizon.
It’s a seriously powerful console too, with the AMD Zen 2 CPU, custom GPU and 16GB of GDDR6 RAM keeping things running smoothly at high frame rates, and the 3D audio support adds an additional layer of immersion.

What really sells the PS5 Digital though, is everything wrapped around the hardware. The DualSense controller is still one of the best reasons to pick PlayStation, with its clever haptics and adaptive triggers transforming games like Astro’s Playroom and Gran Turismo 7.
There are even additional extras like PSVR 2 and PlayStation Portal that expand what you can do with the console – things not available on most competing consoles.
It’s safe to say that the console is an easy recommendation from us – especially at its new ultra-low price. We’ll see you in-game.
