While the premium price tag does put the Sonos Era 300 outside of the reach of some buyers, it’s well worth the investment for those who already have a Sonos system or want an easy-to-use speaker that can stream tunes in high quality.
The Sonos Era 300 utilises Dolby Atmos across six supported drivers, giving them the ability to bounce immersive, 3D sound around the room with incredible precision. Unlike a standard stereo speaker, sound is able to move around you, which can bring a whole new perspective to your favourite songs. You do need a suitable music service, and some tracks sound better than others, but when the effect works, it sounds great.
Beyond Wi-Fi connectivity, you can connect the Sonos Era 300 to your phone via Bluetooth, and there’s an auxiliary input using a Sonos Line-In Adapter to connect up devices like a turntable.
Thanks to the Era 300’s Alexa integration, you can even give voice commands to your speaker, so if you don’t want to bother with scrolling through your favourite playlists on your phone, you can simply say the word and let the Era 300 do its thing.
While it might not have the Hi-Fi purists on board, the Era 300 is a great overall home speaker that sounds great, looks futuristic and is easy to set up and use. For this price, we can’t help but still recommend it.
