For several days, Internet users and the media have been getting excited about the Disneyland Paris Christmas parade. Like every year, the end-of-year celebrations start a little early in the Ile-de-France park. The winter season has just arrived in the tourist destination and is accompanied by exclusive shows. In the evening, visitors can discover exclusive scenes during the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, the drone show that brought everyone into agreement. But it is not this novelty that makes people cringe. A service offered to spectators of the Christmas parade is not very well received by the general public.
For this new edition of “Mickey and his Sparkling Christmas Parade“, Disneyland Paris offers reserved locations that can be purchased in addition to the entrance ticket. For €21 during the day and €24 in the evening to enjoy the illuminated floats and drones, visitors can treat themselves to a place at the central hub in front of the castle to have a front row seat. If this service is a source of indignation, it is above all because of a lack of information and communication on the part of the park. Despite the torrent of anger in the media and on the networks, the destination remains silent for the moment.
Yet in reality: you don’t have to pay to enjoy the Christmas parade as it should be. Disneyland Paris has been offering different reservation systems for its flagship shows for several years now. These reserved locations are entirely optional and can only accommodate a handful of visitors per performance. In the case of the Christmas parade, the hub is not entirely reserved for wealthier visitors. However, those who do not wish to wait more than an hour before the parade to secure a good location can check out and come at the last minute. The parade passes through the park and there is no need to spend money to enjoy it. Besides, here are our tips for having the best possible experience.

How to enjoy the Christmas parade without paying extra?
Just like the classic parade, “Mickey and his Sparkling Christmas Parade” runs through the park from Main Street to Fantasyland (and vice versa depending on the time of performance). There are therefore different locations to choose from to make the most of it. There are two key locations to consider during your visit. During his journey, the parade makes a stop at the hub in front of the castle then at the Christmas tree on Main Street.
These areas are therefore the most lively during the show, but also the most quickly crowded. If you wish to be there, it is recommended to arrive at least one hour before the start of the show. This moment of waiting can be an opportunity to eat your picnic or have a snack for example! It’s all about optimizing your time. With a little preparation, you won’t need to pay for a reserved spot.
Shows renewed in 2025
The negativity surrounding the Christmas parade ended up overshadowing much more interesting announcements from Disneyland Paris. Next year, the park will renew its range of shows with new events to discover during the day and in the evening. Disney Illuminations will bow out once and for all with the arrival of a new night show from January 10, 2025. This show entitled Tales of Magic promises to be grandiose, since projections of the castle will also be exported to the buildings on Main Street for a sensory and memorable experience all the way to the end of the park. Drones will also be in the spotlight.

Then, from April 19 to September 7, 2025, Disneyland Paris will host a never-before-seen season: the Disney Music Festival. On this occasion, the park will host exclusive concerts and musical events, such as the Disney Music Hits Concert held by Tic et Tac. The locations of these shows have not yet been revealed, but they will soon be available.
