We can’t stop progress. After being equipped with the mop function, on-board cameras, and even, a few days ago, a robotic arm to pick up your dirty socks lying around, robot vacuum cleaners are taking a new step in domestic assistance. Just before the official opening of CES 2025, the manufacturer SwitchBot unveiled its K20+ Pro. A hybrid device, capable of (almost) everything, and even delivering breakfast in bed.
Up to 8 kg payload
Behind this astonishing innovation, to say the least, we find the Fusion platform, a sort of rolling table capable of attaching to the robot vacuum cleaner via a proprietary ClawLock system. This device allows you to transform the K20+ Pro into an intelligent mobile base, capable of transporting 8 kg of equipment or objects around the home. The idea is simple, but it has the merit of being interesting: instead of moving around empty, the robot intends to offer a host of accessories, which will enrich the possibilities offered by the device. Several kits should therefore be put on sale alongside the robot vacuum cleaner. A surveillance camera could for example be installed, in order to transform the robot into a mobile security patroller. To this will also be added a system of air purifiercapable of cleaning up your interior room by room, or of refreshing you thanks to its mobile fan integrated.
On paper, the technical possibilities are endless: we can imagine that the robot will be able to transport laundry, deliver drinks from one room to anotheror even use the multimedia tablet supports, so you don’t miss a single second of your favorite series, even when you wander from room to room. Lovers of breakfast in bed better watch out, with eight kg of payload, the K20+ Pro promises to work miracles on a daily basis.
Price and availability
In addition to this interesting addition, the K20+ Pro also has a solid technical sheet, with a d-ToF lidar navigation system, in order to allow precise mapping and efficient detection obstacles. It will also be compatible with Google Assistant, Siri and Amazon Alexa. However, no price or availability date has yet been announced.
