Windows 11 might be Microsoft’s sleekest operating system yet, but deep down it still feels like the older versions. If you’ve ever craved something fresher—something that looks and behaves like an entirely different OS—there’s a new mod that can make it happen.
Seelen UI is a web-based desktop environment that can instantly transform your Windows 11 desktop into a modern, polished workspace. Think of it as a total makeover for your PC, with everything from the quick settings panel and taskbar to widgets reimagined in one clean, unified interface. It’s stylish, productive, and makes your computer feel brand-new.
Experience Seelen UI’s one-click magic
Instantly transform your desktop
Seelen UI wraps your desktop in a sleek, highly customizable interface that feels as though you’re using a completely different OS. The best part is how simple it is to get started.
While customizing Windows with third-party tools usually means wading through confusing settings, editing the registry, or piecing together multiple apps to achieve a cohesive look, Seelen UI is different. You simply need to download Seelen UI from its website or the Microsoft Store and open it. That’s it.
Within seconds, the default Windows desktop melts away, and a brand-new environment takes its place. The taskbar is replaced with a cleaner, macOS-style dock, your wallpaper updates to a modern aesthetic, and a polished toolbar stretches elegantly across the top of the screen.
That top menu bar isn’t just there to look pretty. It’s fully functional. You’ll find Wi-Fi and Bluetooth controls tucked neatly into their own panes, a power menu complete with a brightness slider and handy quick actions, and a volume fly-out paired with a built-in media player. Click your username in the top-left corner, and you can jump straight to Downloads, Documents, Pictures, or even see your recently opened files.
And when you press Win + S, Seelen UI summons its own Spotlight-style search menu. From there, you can open apps, run commands, or jump directly to any directory on your system.
Shape your perfect workspace with customization options
Switch themes and layouts to match your workflow
Just because Seelen UI is one-click magic doesn’t mean you’re locked into its default look. Once the interface is installed, you can customize just about everything to fit your taste or workflow. To get started, click the three-dot icon in the top right corner and select Seelen UI, or press Win + K.
From there, the possibilities are wide open. You can change the accent color to match your mood, set up a dynamic wallpaper slideshow to keep your desktop fresh, or add live weather information directly to the top menu bar for at-a-glance updates.
You can also dive into the Dock’s settings to adjust its width, height, and position. Whether you prefer it anchored at the bottom, floating on the sides, or at the top, the choice is yours. In the General tab, you’ll find a collection of themes that lets you transform the look instantly.
For deeper personalization, you can head to the Resources tab. This is where Seelen UI offers dedicated sections for icon packs, sound packs, widgets, and more. With all these options, you can make your Windows PC look and feel exactly the way you want without any unnecessary complexity.
Tiling window manager and workspaces
Organize apps and jump between virtual workspaces
One of my favorite features of Seelen UI is the built-in tiling window manager. Once enabled, it automatically arranges your apps so they don’t overlap. Sure, Windows already offers Snap Layouts, but this takes window management to an entirely new level.
You can enable this feature by going to Seelen UI Settings > Window Manager and selecting your preferred layout. Whether you prefer a grid, tall stacks, or a wide layout, Seelen UI gives you full control over app placement. From that moment on, every new window you open slots neatly into place, so you don’t have to constantly drag and resize.
You can still move apps around manually to change their positions. As someone who uses a large 32-inch monitor, this lets me make the most of my space without having to arrange everything manually.
Workspaces are another powerful addition. Similar to Windows’ virtual desktop, you can create separate workspaces for different projects—one for browsing, another for editing, and another for communication—and move between them instantly.
Seelen UI’s top toolbar lets you move between workspaces with a single click. But the real deal is the keyboard shortcuts. In the Shortcuts tab of Seelen UI’s Settings menu, you’ll find an extensive list of keyboard combos for creating or closing workspaces, jumping directly to a specific one, or moving apps between them. Once you get used to these shortcuts, you can navigate between tasks seamlessly without breaking your flow.
Leaving Windows for Linux or macOS isn’t for everyone. Seelen UI takes what’s familiar about Windows 11 and elevates it into something that feels completely fresh. With its one-click setup, deep customization tools, tiling window manager, and powerful workspaces, you can give your PC a style that’s both modern and full of personality.
