Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, the owner of Time magazine, commended President-elect Trump for being selected as the publication’s Person of the Year.
“Congratulations to President @realDonaldTrump on being named TIME Person of the Year 2024, Benioff wrote Thursday on the social platform X. “This marks a time of great promise for our nation.”
“We look forward to working together to advance American success and prosperity for everyone,” he continued. “May G-d bless the United States of America.”
Trump, in a feature interview with Time, gave a prelude to his incoming administration, addressing topics including health care, spending cuts and pardons for those who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
“I’ll be looking at J-6 early on, maybe the first nine minutes,” he told the outlet.
The president-elect has long vowed to grant clemency to Jan. 6 rioters, describing them on the campaign trail as “political prisoners.”
Trump’s successful reelection bid sparked a wave of interest from tech leaders, who have seemingly reached out to the president-elect.
Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and owner of The Washington Post, is expected to meet with Trump next week, and Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg has already been in talks with the incoming president at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
Both Amazon and Meta have donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration next month.
Tesla and SpaceX owner Elon Musk, also the owner of X, has taken on a prominent role in the president-elect’s inner circle. He was tapped last month to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
