In the phone call, Hunter spoke to the Jaguars’ head coach as well as their offensive and defensive coordinators.
Hunter said that was an indication of how the team views him as a two way player.
NFL fans were amazed by this call, and shared their thoughts on social media.
“Have to imagine that’s the first time that has ever happened,” one fan said.
“That’s cool,” another fan said.
“Really cool to see that for Hunter,” a third fan said.
“So he’ll be playing both ways,” a fourth fan said.
“Players want to feel genuinely valued,” a fifth fan said.
Hunter is expected to play both sides of the ball in his rookie season with the Jaguars.
