Tenways will not have taken long to boost its range, not without a certain coherence elsewhere. But this CGO 600 Pro inauges something new for the brand, since it is the first renewal of a model. And not just any, the bestseller who made the manufacturer known and validated the crowdfunding campaign.

But everything is not as pink as at the exit of the covid. The cycle market is gloomy and, although the VAE business continues its progression, the competition was forced to review its prices on an abundance of products in stock. The question is therefore: this Tenways CGO 600 Plus, sold 1799 euros, is as interesting as was the first version 5 years ago? We will see that in a test of more than 300 km.
Presentation and context of the test
There are two versions of the new CGO 600: the most and the pro.
The CGO 600 Pro is equipped with a belt transmission. It is therefore monovia and its engine is a M070 Mivice delivering 40 Nm of torque. It weighs 16 kg.
The CGO 600 Plus (our test model) has a transmission by Shimano Claris 8 -speed chain and uses a 45 nm Tenways engine of torque. It weighs 18 kg… on paper.
The promise of tenways is great. It is thus noted on the site: “ As silent as a whisper, with exceptional power. »Just that!
The test was carried out on almost 400 km. The test route (the same for all bikes and all scooters) and its gradual 6 km drop (ideal for testing the power limit of the engine) served as a reference. The cyclist and his equipment weigh 100 kg. During the test, the temperature oscillated between 4 ° C and 20 ° C.

Design: highly urban
The CGO 600 Plus takes up the design of the CGO 600, namely a frame whose upper tube throne high, very high, too high. Difficult to justify this choice, especially since the bicycle is for active ingredients, men and women elsewhere. A choice that quickly made you crack a crotch seam. No, it is not experience, but all the same. However, we can appreciate the modern and refined line. But this geometry, certainly aesthetic, is impractical, as we will see later.

Boues are offered via a promotional offer visibly unlimited in time. Unlike the CGO 600, the lighthouse is now integrated into the frame. The rear light is housed in the mudguard, and it is also powered by the battery.

The hanger is wide, straight, a little low, but now adjustable in height. The ergos are pleasant, and fortunately, because you will rest a large part of your weight on it. The removable battery is integrated into the frame.

The screen is tiny and the information is difficult to read. The tires are wide, perhaps too much for an urban bike. Hirants at the rear can accommodate a luggage rack.

Transmission and motorization: Lack of poorly adapted punch and brackets
The choice of an 8-speed claris transmission is relevant: monoplateau and an amplitude which could have covered a little more than the 25 km/h beyond which the assistance is cut. But the brackets are perched too high: result, uphill, the “most easy” speed still requires a big effort. To the point that by stopping on a slightly steep slope, you will have a hard time leaving.

Shifters do the job. © Jérémy FDIDA
The reporting, once the transmission is well adjusted and lubricated, are pleasant. The shifters respond quickly, the passages are made gently. The Tenways engine promised a lot. As a reminder, it is written on the site: “As silent as a whisper, with exceptional power. »»
In fact, the silence is indeed there. Power, on the other hand, is in no way exceptional. On the 3 levels of assistance, only levels 2 and 3 provide a minimum of energy. And again, level 2 is done especially on well -coated dish.
The engine is housed in the hub of the rear wheel and not in the crankset. But the couple sensor is quite reactive. © Jérémy FDIDA
As a climb, things get tough. The engine is struggling quickly as soon as the slope stiffens. The crest power, already low, collapses after a hundred meters. You can face 5-6% slopes without problem, but beyond, you will have to give your person. As much as on a 9 kg muscle.
Driving: uncomfortable but lively and responsive
The CGO 600 Pro is lively. The couple sensor, the right hanger, the geometry which places the weight on the front make it a machine capable of reacting quickly to recurrent unexpected situations in town
It allows you to take the angle, to easily slalom and therefore to take pleasure in pedaling. But there is a counterpart.

Indeed, the bicycle, however adapted to the size of your servant, guides the weight too much towards the hanger. The arms are undergoing significant pressure, which is felt after an hour’s drive. That’s not all: the saddle is unpleasant and the pedaling position makes your wrists suffer and the interior of your thighs. It will be necessary to think about changing it, this saddle, for a finer model, more profiled and resting better on your posterior.
You will rather want to put yourself in a dancer and the transmission, precisely calibrated too high, allows it without worry.
The brakes are effective. As usual, it is on a beautiful descent on which it is easy to reach 50 km/h that we have, on several occasions, tested the biting, progressiveness and endurance. The result is correct. Progressivity is a bit weak with a dead race that enters directly on the brakes. The endurance is good and the bite sufficient for 25-30 km/h. At 50 km/h, they had more trouble but are not made for that.
The tires are good, but the 48 mm wide for an urban bike are too much and cause resistance and weight on the unnecessary non -suspended masses. A section in 38 would have been enough, in addition to refining a little more the bicycle, both visually and weightally.

The lighting is good, wide, but lacks a bit of power. Ditto for the rear. Additional equipment will not be a luxury better to see and be seen.
Autonomy and recharge: a camel!
For 5 hours of recharge (without indicator other than a green LED on the 3A charger), the CGO 600 Plus tenways offers 58 km of autonomy by eating with a battery of only 360 Wh. This makes it one of the most efficient and enduring markets on the market.

Integration is elegant. © Jérémy FDIDA
Admittedly, the engine is not a lightning light and quickly abandons in crest, but overall, on urban journey without large relief, it ensures. With a 58 km guaranteed, that is to say with 100 kg on the saddle, temperatures between 2 ° C and 20 ° C and with assistance at the maximum level.
Good point: the battery is removable and light (logic, given its capacity).
Application: at the top, really!
Tenways was able to develop its application by relying on a home engine. It was therefore possible to do everything, but not anything. If we find the usual information (GPS tracing, distances traveled, burnt calories, CO2 saved). To this is added a counter that indicates essential information in a readable and pleasant way to know:
- Current speed
- Average speed
- Journey time
- Hour
- Remaining mileage
- Distance traveled
All with a clear and precise summary at the end of the journey. There is also an online assistance system.
In short, it’s well done, pretty, free. But almost all bike applications and scooters are now from this ilk.
Verdict: a bicycle in the average, but the more the value for money of yesteryear
The party after COVID is over. The CGO 600 Plus is no longer this detonating value for money. Now there is competition. Here, everything is correct, nothing more. From finish to the engine, passing through the brakes and the Price. On the other hand, the geometry is unpleasant, the saddle uncomfortable, the transmission poorly calibrated and the crest power of the engine collapses too quickly.

But this CG0 600 still manages to give pleasure. It is lively, its weight is well distributed, it has a certain style and will honorably ensure any request for Vélotaf, a little bit that you are ready to wet the jersey a little (which is not really the goal of the Vélotaf). Then its autonomy is phenomenal, especially from a 360 Wh battery, when competition is less, with batteries with capacity 70% larger. But at this price, we now ask for a pedal engine (especially if it is a home engine) and a little more extensive work on geometry.
This CGO 600 Plus will suit those who like to pedal and provide a certain effort. But this effort will make you sweat. And if it is necessary to spend sweat, the idea of a good light muscle bike can arise in front of this VAE.
