THE US Open have announced a major milestone on Sunday as history was made.
The New York tournament kicked off with the first-round of the men and women’s singles brackets.

It was an action-packed day at Flushing Meadows with Ben Shelton, Emma Raducanu and Co in action.
Fans flooded into Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Stadiums in the sizzling heat.
And the US Open revealed history had been made throughout the week.
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center saw record numbers for Fan Week in 2025.
Exactly 239,307 supporters flocked to Flushing to watch all the action over six days.
It came after a revamped mixed-doubles tournament worth $1 million.
Raducanu paired with Carlos Alcaraz along with a number of high-profile duos.
Specialists Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori won the whole tournament.
Meanwhile, 50,000-plus were on the grounds for Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day.
“Among the highlights of the six-day, free tennis and entertainment festival on the US Open grounds this year,” a statement read.
“A record 54,020 fans enjoyed the annual Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, breaking last year’s record of 47,875.
“Over 3 million unique devices accessed USOpen.org and the US Open app during Fan Week, 59% increase over 2024 and highest Fan Week Total on record.
“There were over 5.3 million visits to the US Open digital platforms during that time period,77% increase over 2024 and highest Fan Week Total on record.
“Fan Access Pass reached more than 240,000 registrations and saw a 22% increase in unique users on the grounds.
How to watch the 2025 US Open
THE tennis world has descended upon New York City for the fourth and final slam of the year.
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows will have the eyes of the sporting universe upon it.
The 2025 US Open takes place from Sunday 24 August to Sunday 7 September.
And there is a standalone mixed-double competition as well as qualifying taking place in the week beforehand.

“The 2025 US Open Mixed Doubles Championship featured two days of sellout crowds in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The US Open main draw started on Sunday and runs until September 7.
Fans were treated to an exciting first day in New York.
British world No1 Raducau breezed into the second-round.
She destroyed her qualifier rival from Japan, Ena Shibahara.
The 22-year-old came out on top 6-1, 6-2 in just 62 minutes on Louis Armstrong.
