A WALMART customer has blasted the store and said they refused to shop there due to a controversial in-store measure.
Roger Anderson took to X, formerly Twitter, and said the self-checkout machines made him take a drastic measure.
In the post, Anderson (@rdanderson1972) said there were no face-to-face cashiers available for him to use at his Walmart location.
“I went to Walmart one evening and filled up a cart,” he said.
“Get to the checkout and only the self checkout machines are open.”
The customer was upset by this and left his items and walked out of the store.
“I said f**k that and walked out,” he said.
“Left the cart right there…”
Another X user replied to the post and shared that they had noticed the reliance on self-checkouts had become more widespread.
“That seems to be turning into a common thing,” they said.
The shopper’s post came in response to another X user who complained about self-checkouts and receipt checks.
They (@therealmrbench) said that they did not stop to show their proof of purchase as they left the stores.
The poster offered several retailers an ultimatum on this topic.
“Either trust me to do the job of a cashier or remove the self check out systems,” they said.
This customer said they raised their receipt to show staff but objected to stopping and having someone read their proof of purchase.
