ChatGPT has managed to impact the lives of hundreds of millions of people. It is extremely tempting to call on the chatbot for the slightest question, whatever the subject.
OpenAI has achieved an even greater feat: convincing its competitors to make room for ChatGPT directly in their ecosystem. Even though ChatGPT eventually disappeared from WhatsApp, the chatbot is still in Apple’s good graces. It even just got Apple Music integration.
ChatGPT now linked to Apple Music to make your searches and playlist management easier
Fidji Simo, the vice president in charge of applications at OpenAI, seems to have outdone everyone by announcing that an Apple Music integration was coming to ChatGPT. It is now done: the chatbot is available in the music streaming app. Wondering what ChatGPT can be used for in Apple Music? It’s very simple.
ChatGPT works as an AI-powered search tool. You can therefore search for songs, artists, albums and playlists even without a subscription. Subscribers can add songs, albums and playlists to their Apple Music library using ChatGPT. Obviously, you must first connect your Apple account to ChatGPT (in the Applications section of Settings on Mac and iOS) for everything to work.
Then, it’s up to you to start your prompts by naming Apple Music correctly so that the AI understands in which application you want it to act. Apple specifies that ChatGPT does not have access neither to the listening history, nor to the content of previously created playlists.
The good understanding between Apple and OpenAI is confirmed with this arrival of a chatbot in the Apple brand’s music app. Remember that ChatGPT already invested in Apple Intelligence last April for the launch of iOS 18.4. Here’s what you can do with ChatGPT on Apple Intelligence in iOS 26:
- Get more detailed answers in Siri
- Write text in Writing Tools
- Use new styles in Image Playground
- Using ChatGPT with Visual Intelligence
- Use a template in Shortcuts
What will be the next discovery of Apple and OpenAI to consolidate their collaboration? To be continued.
