Vivo has officially announced its next big software update – OriginOS 6. It has been rolled out globally, including in India. The company calls it its most advanced operating system yet, designed for the AI-driven era. What stands out this time is Vivo’s focus on design and everyday interaction. The OriginOS 6 comes with the Origin Smooth Engine, which helps in coordinating computing, storage, and display systems so the phone stays fast and responsive over time. What else? Vivo claims measurable improvements too, such as app cold-starts are now 18.5% faster, frame-rate stability improves by 10.5%, and overall responsiveness (like touch and animations) is noticeably quicker. To handle demanding tasks like gaming or multitasking, Vivo has also introduced a Snap-Up Engine that dynamically allocates power where it’s needed most.
OriginOS 6 Design
OriginOS 6 takes design cues from nature – everything from colours and motion to layout feels softer and more fluid. The new Origin Design System combines colour, depth, and geometry for a cleaner visual flow.
Vivo has also updated its vivo Sans font, which now supports 40+ languages with adjustable thickness. Visual touches like Dynamic Glow and Translucent Colour add a sense of depth, while features such as Lock Screen Grid and Home Screen Grid make customisation easier than before. You can now rearrange widgets, blend photos, and even create animated “Flip Cards” that move with your device.
OriginOS 6 AI Features
In collaboration with Google, Vivo is adding smarter features powered by AI. The new Origin Island shows real-time updates at the top of the screen and offers contextual actions like Copy & Go or Drag & Go, letting you move text or photos between apps instantly.
On the creative side, AI Retouch merges tools like AI Erase and Image Expander into one, while DocMaster and Smart Call Assistant help with productivity and communication.
OriginOS 6 Availability
Vivo says the global rollout of OriginOS 6 will begin in November 2025, with India being one of the first regions to get it. The update will reach eligible Vivo and iQOO phones in phases.
