One complaint about Windows 11, especially for those on older systems, is its sluggish performance, and Microsoft is now seeking your assistance to find the root of the problem.
In a preview build for Windows 11 released last week, Microsoft is encouraging testers to provide the company with logs charting PC slowdowns.
“As part of our commitment to improving Windows performance, logs are now collected when your PC has experienced any slow or sluggish performance,” Microsoft says. “Windows Insiders are encouraged to provide feedback when experiencing PC issues related to slow or sluggish performance, allowing Feedback Hub to automatically collect these logs, which will help us root cause issues faster.”
These logs will be collected automatically and stored locally, but they will be sent to Microsoft only after a tester submits their feedback via Feedback Hub. To let Feedback Hub pick up the logs, select Desktop > System Sluggishness while filing feedback.
As Windows Latest reports, the logs will only be collected for testers who have signed up for the Windows Insider program. If you’re running the stable Windows 11 software, your data won’t be collected.
For regular users, the next major update is Windows 11 25H2. According to The Verge, the update is expected later this year and could reflect some of Microsoft’s changes based on the new logging system.

Windows 11 users have complained about the performance of several OS elements so far, from its Start Menu and File Explorer to Settings and menus. Some have even found it less responsive than its predecessor, Windows 10. There are also strict hardware requirements.
