But the day before, the couple were seen in London enjoying a special UK screening in Southbank for “Heads of State”, a new film Cena is starring in.
The 48-year-old took to the premiere in a matching black suit and trousers with white stripes.
He paired these with a white shirt and jazzy black and white tie, along with some smart dress shoes.
Meanwhile, Shay stunned in a black minidress which boasted an eye-catching large white bow.
The engineer, 36, added a stylish set of stilettos and paired her look with some beautiful pearl drop earrings.
Reacting on social media, one fan said: “She’s gorgeous.”
A second said: “Beautiful couple.”
Cena and Shay keep their relationship under wraps for the most part.
So seeing the pair in public together was a rare sight.
But they had no issue showing their affectionate side as Cena also planted a kiss on his beloved’s cheek as they posed for snaps.
Cena and Shay got married at an attorney’s office in Tampa, Florida, in 2020, but hosted a second wedding celebration in June 2022 in Vancouver, Canada.
The wrestler previously revealed how the pair met in a chance meeting at a restaurant after her friend approached to ask for a photo.
He said: “So I got a picture with her, and then she brought by my wife-to-be over, we have our first fan photo, which we hang proudly where we hang our hats.
“It’s awesome.
“I asked her for her number and she gave me her number, and I didn’t wait like the two days [to reach out].
“I left the restaurant and on my walk home I [texted].
“‘It was so nice to meet you, you’re beautiful, I’d like to get to know you more if you have any free time coming up I’ll make time for you.’
“She’s like, ‘You want to go out this weekend?’ I said, ‘Sure.'”
Fast forward to summer 2025, and the pair were enjoying tennis from the Royal Box at Wimbledon.
As part of the UK promotion tour for his new Amazon Prime Video action-comedy, he also made a guest appearance on UK daytime show “This Morning”.
He will star in the series alongside Idris Elba, who is originally from Hackney in the English capital.
